The Company "L'Isola d'oro"

The co. "L'Isola d'oro" is a company that produces and markets fish canned products.
The co. was founded and developed by the partnership between two very skilled and experienced managers in this field: Ferruccio Zarotti and Tommaso Tomasello.

This business venture, including the association with various commercials concerns in order to have full control over the production chain, gave place to a revolutionary change in the commercialization and marketing of the canned delicious fish specialties both in retail and catering sectors.
The two skilful associated partners created new ideas and strategies in the production and commercial network.
As a result, they hit the target of enhancing a sluggish trade area, generating interest and demand.

The innovation of our packaging system has a very important role in achieving our goals. The products are canned in glass jars (synonymous wih quality) and labels declare breed, type and provenance.
Gaudy colour graphics and a winning brand testimonial hit the mark of a constant rise of sales and general appreciation.

The Philosophy of our company

Within the Italian enterprises L'Isola d'Oro operates in an ethically corrected way, respecting both human beings and environment. The organic waste, originating from the processing of raw materials, are regularly disposed following a severe protocol based on the agreements of Kyoto; our packaging-glazing, -boxes and -paperboarding falls within the rules of the European Community, which restricts the use of not degradable materials.

Our tuna, the core business of the company, comes from raw material certified dolphins' safe. The fishing of anchovies, used for making our renowned anchovy fillets, is carried on only in Sicily and only when this fishing is allowed; indeed, we observe the strict rules of fishing stop imposed and financed by the European Community for limiting the damage of uncontrolled fisheries in the Mediterranean sea.

Unlike many competitors L'Isola d'Oro has chosen to process and package the seafood only in Italy.
We are enabled to control the whole production chain, from fishing to salting and from cutting fillets to packaging performed in Sicily.
This choice has been determined for assuring both quality and image of the product respecting the Italian handicraft tradition, and for creating and maintaining jobs opportunities and socioeconomic progress in Italy.

In Parma, head office of EFSA, we have created a commercial and logistic network, in order to coherently achieve the growth of the company.
We strongly believe in the formation of a entrepreneurship conscience, transversal and horizontal as all, from the managerial to the productive division, are involved in achieving a common aim and where the general public is a co-leader of the production process of the company.

These are the values in which we believe, those that are perceived and are tasted in the products of our company that, not by chance, we call L'Isola d'Oro (The Isle of Gold).
